Education & interests

Nadim Saadi is a PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, conducting his research within CIRAIG under the supervision of Prof. Anne-Marie Boulay. He holds a Master of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from McGill University.

Nadim’s research focuses on integrating the environmental impacts of microplastics into Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), particularly through their effects on ecosystem quality and disturbances to ocean biogeochemical cycles. Nadim is an active member of MarILCA, a working group supported by the UNEP-Life Cycle Initiative, and serves on the scientific committee of the Plastic Footprint Network. Throughout his PhD, he has collaborated with international research institutions such as the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM, Netherlands) and the Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML, United Kingdom).
