The CIRAIG extends its warmest wishes for the year 2024!
The past year has been marked by significant events, notably the launch of the International Research Consortium on Life Cycle Assessment and Sustainable Transition, and we anticipate another exceptional year in 2024.
With emotion, we announce another major change within the CIRAIG: the well-deserved retirement of our General Director, Professor Réjean Samson. Co-founder of CIRAIG in 2001, Réjean has been leading the organization since its beginning. His leadership has played a crucial role in shaping CIRAIG’s journey and establishing it as a pioneer in life cycle assessment and sustainability research. We are deeply grateful for his dedication and wish him a retirement filled with new adventures and accomplishments.
Simultaneously, we warmly welcome Anne-Marie Boulay, Associate Professor at Polytechnique Montréal, as the new General Director of CIRAIG, effective January 1, 2024. Chemical engineering graduate, her research focuses on the development and harmonization of impact assessment methods in LCA. She holds the Canada Research Chair in Impacts of Plastics in the Environment and co-chairs the international scientific working group MarILCA. Anne-Marie brings extensive experience in life cycle assessment, and under her guidance, we are confident that CIRAIG will continue to evolve.
“I come to this role with a deep sense of responsibility and excitement. I am honored to lead the wonderful CIRAIG team into a future that presents increased challenges and opportunities and look forward to pursue excellence and relevance in providing decision support in sustainability.”
Wishing you a 2024 full of new beginnings!
