Executive director at CIRAIG, Sophie Fallaha holds a Bachelor degree and a Master in Applied Sciences in chemical engineering from the École Polytechnique of Montreal. Her Master research focused on life cycle assessment and greenhouse accounting. She worked for a few years as a consultant (Bio by Deloitte in Paris and Sanexen Environmental Services in Canada), drawing up a hands-on experience on applied sustainability projects – from carbon footprint to the development of water footprint indicators, through the development of GHG inventory automated tools.
Back at CIRAIG in 2011 as a senior analyst, Mrs. Fallaha managed the Carbon Footprint Pilot Project from Quebec Government where her work focused on carbon footprinting, verification, certification and labelling of products. Between 2013 and 2018, she has been in charge of the ILC Chair industrial partnership, bringing together the needs of the industrial partners and CIRAIG’s research work. She managed applied research projects, making sure they are aligned with the sustainability strategy of CIRAIG’s partners.
Since 2018, she has been appointed as the Executive director – in charge of implementing CIRAIG’s business development and operations strategy.
