The GHG Protocol is a standardized and internationally recognized methodology that enables companies to rigorously and transparently identify their most significant sources of GHG emissions. The objective of the training is to understand how to conduct a GHG inventory for an organization in accordance with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.

Training objectives

Understand the context of the GHG Protocol.
Know the main methodological aspects and requirements of the GHG Protocol.
Identify the data to collect and the available emission factors for each emission category.
Understand the calculation of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions through simplified examples.

Introduction to the GHG Protocol, key standards, and guides for GHG quantification.
General concepts of the GHG Protocol (organizational and operational boundaries, base year, etc.).
Calculation of Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions, and the various accounting methods for each emission category.
Data to collect for each emission category.
Available data sources for emission factors.
Simplified application exercises.
