CIRAIG is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Anne-Marie Boulay as Deputy Director General of the International Reference Center for Life Cycle Assessment and Sustainable Transition (CIRAIG). Professor Boulay will succeed Réjean Samson on January 1st, 2024, as General Director of the CIRAIG.

Associate Professor at Polytechnique Montreal, Anne-Marie Boulay holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University (2006) as well as a doctorate from Polytechnique Montreal (2013) on the evaluation of impacts of water use in life cycle analysis. CIRAIG member since 2008, she specializes in LCA impact assessment. She chaired the WULCA working group of UN Environmen Programme (UNEP) and Life Cycle Initiative which led to a consensus on water footprint methodologies. She then went on to co-found the MarILCA group (UNEP and Forum for Sustainability through Life Cycle Innovation (FSLCI)) in 2018 which develops plastic waste impact models in LCA. She also has chaired ISO Canada’s TC207/SC5 subcommittee on Life Cycle Assessment for the past ten years.
