The purpose of the training is to provide the necessary knowledge to perform life cycle analysis (LCA) on openLCA independently. openLCA is a free and open source open source ACV software. A general knowledge of LCA is required. Note that a general knowledge of LCA is required to attend the training (see prerequisities).
Training objectives
- Understanding how openLCA software works
- Model new processes yourself on openLCA
- Using an impact method and interpreting LCA results with openLCA
- Carry out a life cycle analysis with the openLCA software
- Understanding Multifunctionality in openLCA
- Understand more advanced features in openLCA such as uncertainty analysis and regionalization
- Learning data exchange formats with openLCA

For whom is this training?
Practitioners, students and researchers wishing to familiarize themselves with the modeling component of the life cycle assessment method.
Prerequisites: The content of the course assumes that participants have a good basic knowledge of LCA. To attend the training, you must at minimum be familiar with the concepts of functional unit, intermediate and elementary flows, difference between aggregated and disaggregated data, product system, impact assessment and sensitivity analysis.
